Paul Robinson has slammed Leeds United owners 49ers Enterprises for what he calls a “disappointing” transfer window at the club. The summer saw a major clear-out at Elland Road with 19 senior players, including key first teamers Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, leaving the Championship side.
Despite raising over £130m in transfer fees from player sales, the mass departures have left manager Daniel Farke with a threadbare squad. United did bring in eight new signings, with deals for Ao Tanaka and Isaac Schmidt being finalized on deadline day. However, some fans have expressed frustration at the lack of incoming talent this summer.
Former United goalkeeper Robinson expressed his disappointment, stating, “I thought it was a poor transfer window for Leeds. They lost a lot of talent, and the undisclosed transfer fees for new signings leave fans questioning the motives behind the business.
“With over £100m worth of talent leaving the club, and new investments coming in, it is clear that there are issues to address. The lack of transparency in the transfer dealings is frustrating for fans, and it seems the priority was balancing the books rather than strengthening the squad.
“As of now, there has been no explanation from the board, but hopefully, chief executive Angus Kinnear will soon address the fans to shed some light on the club’s summer dealings.”
