“We regret not signing, alot is missing in the team’: Leeds are already regretting not signing £7.6m player after transfer tussle

Leeds United find themselves with a rather small squad in the Championship this season, and this could pose a challenge as they take on Cardiff City. Daniel Farke is facing injury concerns for the first time this season, with the possibility of missing four key players from last weekend’s squad.

Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell, Manor Solomon, and Junior Firpo have all been dealing with injuries throughout the week, with Solomon being the main doubt due to a back issue. This could see Largie Ramazani getting his first full Leeds debut. However, there is hope as Rothwell, Solomon, and Firpo were seen in the latest training video, suggesting they may still be available.

Solomon’s injury is not surprising, given the amount of game time he has had recently after a long period without competitive football. With Dan James also out injured, Leeds would be left with limited options on the bench in Cardiff. Graham Smyth discussed Leeds’ failure to sign Roland Sallai, as his versatility and height could have been beneficial in this situation.

Sallai ultimately joined Galatasaray after Leeds’ interest faded, with reports suggesting that Leeds chose not to pursue the deal further. This decision has now left them in a situation where they may lack the depth needed to cope with injuries and rotations throughout the season.
