New Everton owner Dan Friedkin is reportedly eyeing Maurizio Sarri as the potential new head coach for the struggling Toffees. Following the recent takeover announced by Friedkin, Il Corriere dello Sport suggests that the American billionaire is keen on bringing in Sarri to lead Everton out of their current 19th place in the Premier League.
Sarri, who most recently managed Lazio, Juventus, and Napoli, is a sought-after coach known for his success with Chelsea in winning the Europa League in 2019. Currently without a club since leaving Lazio in March 2023, Sarri has expressed his desire to return to coaching soon and is said to be waiting for the right project.
The report also mentions that Sarri may bring his trusted fitness coach, Daniele Tognaccini, to Everton. The pair previously worked together at Juventus, and Tognaccini is renowned in Italy for his expertise in fitness training, having founded MilanLab in the 90s.
