“IT’S BRUTAL” Wolves on the Brink of Sacking O’Neil” – Keith Wyness suggests when Wolves could sack O’Neil

Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has suggested that Wolves manager Gary O’Neil should be given until Christmas to reverse the team’s poor results.

Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old, who now works as a football consultant, praised O’Neil for his efforts at Molineux last season despite the current struggles.

Reports have indicated that O’Neil is under pressure and could face a potential sacking if results do not improve soon. Wolves are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table and have yet to secure a victory in the 2024-25 season.

O’Neil, who took over just before the start of the previous campaign, guided Wolves to a 14th-place finish amidst significant player departures.

The team’s upcoming matches against Man City, Brentford, and Liverpool will be crucial for O’Neil’s future at the club according to Wyness.

Wyness stated on the podcast, “The Wolves board and owners may be considering making a change at Christmas if things do not improve. I hope it doesn’t come to that, as I have respect for the way O’Neil led Wolves last season and brought the team together again. However, football can be a ruthless business. The games leading up to Christmas will be pivotal in determining his fate.”
