Inter Milan have expressed interest in signing Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, as reported by InterLive.it. The young centre-back has recently returned to action after a two-month injury layoff, helping Everton secure their first league win of the season against Crystal Palace.
With the Friedkin Group set to take over Everton pending regulatory approval, InterLive.it warns that the new Toffees owners must be wary of competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan. Despite boasting solid defensive options in Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi, whose contracts expire in 2025, Inter’s leadership is actively scouting for reinforcements in the market.
Branthwaite has caught the eye of Inter chairman Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio, who have identified the English defender as a potential target for the future. However, the €40m valuation placed on Branthwaite is deemed too steep for Inter at the moment, especially considering Everton’s reported valuation of £70m during summer transfer negotiations with Manchester United.
As a result, while Inter Milan’s interest in Branthwaite is real, a move for the talented defender seems unlikely given the current financial considerations.
