During the match, Cameron Archer’s goal was disallowed for offside after VAR ruled that Adam Armstrong had interfered with play, leaving fans and manager Russell Martin frustrated with the process.
Martin criticized the decision, stating, “We either have VAR to correct problems or not. When there’s a goal, it’s a big problem.”
In response, Ramsdale, who missed the game due to injury, took to Twitter to express his disbelief, simply stating, “You can not be serious,” along with a facepalm emoji.
The goalkeeper’s rare tweet highlighted the seriousness of the situation, as Southampton continue to struggle in the Premier League with only five points from 13 games.
Tensions ran high at full-time, with Martin confronting Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler over alleged lack of respect, stressing that respect should be mutual and reciprocal in the game.
