Tyrhys Dolan, named the Player of the Match, played a prominent role in Blackburn’s win, drawing a penalty early in the game and showcasing his attacking prowess throughout. However, Dolan was fortunate to escape a red card when he made a dangerous tackle on Junior Firpo around the hour mark.
Former referee Dermot Gallagher expressed his belief that Dolan was lucky to avoid dismissal for the foul, emphasizing that a red card wouldn’t have been unwarranted.
Leeds manager Farke expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision post-match, highlighting the lack of authority shown by referee Lewis Smith during the game. Smith’s failure to address time-wasting and other questionable decisions only added to the frustration felt by Leeds fans following the loss.
