PERMANENT EXIT DEAL CONFIRMED: Leeds United Key player on the brink of departure as only final details needed for January exit.

Over the weekend, Salzburger Nachrichten revealed Red Bull Salzburg’s interest in signing Leeds United’s Maximilian Wöber during the January transfer window.

According to Kurier, the defender had expressed his desire to move to the Austrian club back in the summer transfer window.

This news comes after Red Bull Salzburg’s managing director of sport, Rouven Schröder, hinted at a potential move for the 26-year-old.

In the latest edition of Salzburger Nachrichten on Wednesday, it is reported that Wöber’s transfer to Salzburg is starting to come together.

Having joined Elland Road in January 2023 after a successful spell at Red Bull Salzburg, the Austrian international has struggled for game time under Daniel Farke this season due to injury, with just 100 minutes of action in three games.

A return to his former club is now looking increasingly likely, with negotiations progressing and only minor details left to be sorted out. It seems that both parties are eager to work together again.

The newspaper suggests that Wöber’s asking price should not be a problem for Red Bull Salzburg, as Leeds United are also open to selling him in the upcoming transfer window.
