“Glad you didn’t sign there, ‘Go on r kid” Kalvin Phillips sends four-word message to Leeds United target after masterclass against Frank Lampard

Leeds United supporters were ecstatic to see Kalvin Phillips’ encouraging message to a possible future transfer target after eliminating Frank Lampard from the FA Cup.

Even though Leeds triumphed over Coventry City with a score of 2-0 last Wednesday, the Leeds fans continued to irk Lampard.

The ongoing feud between the club and Lampard was evident in the fans’ behavior, but despite the tension, Lampard did commend Leeds. However, his string of bad luck in the FA Cup persisted.

Following Ipswich Town’s victory over Coventry on Saturday, former Leeds player Phillips made a comment in response to a player that Leeds is interested in signing.

Kalvin Phillips sends a concise message to Leeds United target
Phillips remains a hero in the hearts of many Leeds supporters, and the 29-year-old has had a decent start with Ipswich Town.

Leeds has set its sights on Ben Godfrey as a potential signing for the summer transfer window post his loan spell with Ipswich.

Both Phillips and Godfrey played on Saturday, contributing to a forgettable afternoon for Lampard as Kieran McKenna’s team sealed a 4-1 win.

After the game, Phillips left a comment on Godfrey’s Instagram post, simply saying: ‘Go on r kid’.

Leeds could hold an advantage in acquiring Godfrey next season
Although Godfrey is currently on loan at Ipswich from Atalanta, this does not mean that Leeds’ pursuit of the defender has ended.

The 27-year-old has fallen out of favor at Atalanta since his move from Everton in the summer. Manager Daniel Farke may look to reunite with his former center-back from their time together at Norwich City.

Despite Ipswich securing Godfrey on a January deal, Leeds might resurrect their interest in signing him in the summer.

The advantage that Leeds holds in the race for Godfrey’s signature depends on their promotion to the Premier League and Ipswich’s relegation. This would give Leeds a significant upper hand in signing Godfrey next season.
