Ipswich Town have secured the signing of promising defender Walker Shabazz-Edwards from non-league team Brightlingsea Regent after a successful trial period. The young centre back, aged 17, initially caught the eye while playing for Ilford before making the move to the Isthmian League North Division club last year.

Impressing during matches against Watford and Charlton Athletic for the under-21s team, Shabazz-Edwards has now earned himself a professional contract with the Blues at Portman Road. Standing at an impressive 6ft 4in, he is a modern defender with excellent game awareness, composure on the ball, and a strong tackling ability.

Taking to his Instagram account, the talented youngster expressed his joy at signing his first professional deal with Ipswich Town.
