CLUB STATEMENT: Celtic release statement after Vaclav Cerny water bottle incident, fan concerns also addressed

Celtic have released a statement addressing two separate incidents following Sunday’s Glasgow derby against Rangers. Despite a valiant effort from the Hoops, they ultimately lost 3-2, allowing their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to narrow to 13 points.

Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate helped Celtic mount a comeback after being down 2-0 at halftime, but it was Hamza Igamane’s goal that sealed the victory for Rangers. However, it was Vaclav Cerny’s unruly behavior that sparked controversy, as he threw a water bottle at Celtic fans from the Rangers bench.

Celtic have raised concerns about Cerny’s actions and are working with authorities to address his misconduct. Additionally, the Green Brigade complained about police operations preventing fans from attending the match, prompting Celtic to investigate further in collaboration with the authorities.

The club’s statement emphasized the need to address these issues and engage in discussions with supporters and law enforcement to understand the circumstances and events surrounding the incidents.
