‘Shocking Outburst’ – Pennant lashes out after what he saw in Leeds win v Middlesbrough

Leeds United moved back to the top of the Championship table after a dramatic 1-0 win over Middlesbrough on Tuesday night. The match was filled with controversy, particularly with regards to the officiating.

The Whites got off to a flying start, with Dan James scoring in the second minute. However, they had two other goals ruled out for offside, which were later disputed. Patrick Bamford and Ao Tanaka both had their goals disallowed, despite replays showing that they were onside.

The incorrect decisions sparked frustration among the Leeds United supporters and players. Jermaine Pennant, speaking on talkSPORT, described the officiating as “absolutely shocking” and called for the introduction of VAR to improve accuracy.

Pennant’s sentiments were echoed by many Leeds United fans, who were left fuming by the poor quality of the officiating. The club may take further action to address the issue, with supporters demanding that the officials be held accountable for their mistakes.

Despite the controversy, Leeds United’s focus will be on their upcoming match against Preston North End at Elland Road on Saturday. The win over Middlesbrough has given them a boost in their promotion push, and they will look to build on the momentum as the season nears its end.
