Pundit Michael Dawson suggested that Vardy’s miss was “justice,” implying that the Leicester City striker had simulated to win the penalty. Hackett agrees, stating that Vardy “manufactured” the contact with Sa to earn the penalty.
Hackett believes that Vardy’s experience allowed him to manipulate the situation to his advantage, making it difficult for the referee to judge. He thinks the VAR should have intervened to overturn the decision.
