Potential Deal Confirmed: Leeds handed boost to seal new transfer as Manchester City make shocking decision

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City midfielder James McAtee as they prepare for their return to the Premier League.

After securing promotion with 100 points in the Championship, Leeds are looking to strengthen their squad to avoid relegation next season.

McAtee, who has been added to England’s Under-21 training squad ahead of the Euros, looks set to leave Manchester City after being left out of their Club World Cup plans.

Despite being praised by Pep Guardiola in the past, game time has been limited for the 22-year-old under the Spanish manager.

Leeds, along with other Premier League clubs, are said to be interested in signing McAtee for around £20 million, with manager Daniel Farke seeing him as a key player in their high-intensity system.

McAtee’s loan spell at Sheffield United showcased his ability to create and score goals in tight spaces, making him a perfect fit for Farke’s possession-based setup.

With his versatility to play as a No. 10 or winger, McAtee could offer Leeds the tactical flexibility they need to compete in the Premier League.

If he can adapt to Leeds’ pressing demands and improve his defensive contributions, McAtee could become a crucial player in their quest for stability next season.
