NEW DEAL CONFIRMED: Chelsea have approached Nottingham Forest about signing ‘very’ valuable star, it’s not Morgan Gibbs-White

Morgan Gibbs-White, the shining star of Nottingham Forest, may be on the move this summer as interest in him continues to grow. Despite Manchester City’s interest in the player, they were put off by the hefty £70 million price tag set by Evangelos Marinakis.

Other big clubs have their eyes on players from Forest as well, with Anthony Elanga catching the attention of Newcastle. However, Forest can rest easy as Elanga is under contract until 2028.

After an impressive seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, many Forest players are being targeted by other clubs, posing a challenge for the Reds to retain their top talent this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea has reportedly added Murillo to their list of transfer targets. The central defender was outstanding in the 2024/25 campaign, missing just two Premier League games and scoring a couple of goals for Forest. Murillo, who recently signed a new five-year contract with Forest, has also earned his first cap for Brazil.

Although Chelsea secured a Champions League spot over Forest, the Reds are in a good position to keep hold of Murillo. The young defender has been a key player in the team’s solid defensive line, earning accolades from football pundits like Ian Wright.

With Murillo’s long-term contract in place, there is no pressure for Forest to sell, and it would be surprising if he were to leave this summer. Despite Chelsea’s interest, it may be wise for them to explore other options for defensive reinforcements.

For now, Murillo’s development is best served by regular playing time with Forest. As the UEFA Conference League approaches next season, the Brazilian defender will play a crucial role for the team as they aim for success in the tournament.
