Roma’s interest in O’Riley was sparked prior to a transfer bid from Napoli, but now it seems Roma is ramping up their efforts to bring him to Italy. They are reportedly looking to offer O’Riley regular game time in his preferred position as a No.8.
Despite his frustrations, Brighton is not actively seeking to sell O’Riley but will consider offers that match his value. Celtic, who included a sell-on clause in O’Riley’s contract, could profit from a potential transfer fee if he is sold. In the event of a £25.6m bid, Celtic would be entitled to £2.56m.
The situation remains uncertain as Roma has yet to make an official bid, but it is expected that any offer would surpass the £26m that Brighton paid for O’Riley last season.
