£20M PERMANENT DONE DEAL: Player set to fly to Sunderland on Saturday – Transfer agreement in final stages

Sky Sports Italy has reported that Sunderland’s negotiations for Sassuolo winger Armand Laurienté are reaching their final stages. It is expected that Laurienté will be flying to England for a medical examination tomorrow, as Sassuolo prepares to bid farewell to the talented player.

Sources suggest that Sunderland has offered €20m for Laurienté, with additional bonuses to be negotiated. The club is eager to secure the winger and discussions with Sassuolo are close to being finalized.

Laurienté is anticipated to make his journey to England on Saturday, where a lucrative five-year contract awaits him at the Stadium of Light. Once he has successfully completed all medical assessments, he is poised to join Sunderland’s squad for the upcoming season.

Sassuolo is already making plans to fill the void that Laurienté’s departure will create, as the 26-year-old has been a key player for the club since his €10.1m transfer in 2022. With 31 goals and 18 assists in 102 games, Laurienté has been a standout performer for Sassuolo.

If the deal goes through as expected, Laurienté will be Sunderland’s sixth signing of the summer, adding to a hefty €115.9m that the club has already spent on reinforcements. With a strengthened squad under coach Regis Le Bris, Sunderland is looking to make an impact in their return to the Premier League.
