Despite their success in attracting top talent this summer, fans were surprised to hear that a deal for Sassuolo striker Armand Lauriente fell through after he traveled for a medical examination in Sunderland. Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed on social media that the deal with Sassuolo was off and Lauriente would be returning to Italy.
Although this setback was unexpected, the Black Cats have already completed six signings this transfer window, including Habib Diarra, Enzo Le Fee, Simon Adingra, Noah Mandava, Reinildo Mandava and Chemsdine Talbi.
There are rumors of potentially signing Granit Xhaka, a high-profile player, which has given hope to fans. Additionally, the club is looking to bolster their defense with the potential signing of Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi.
