Leeds United may soon have their goalkeeper conundrum solved as Lucas Perri is poised to undergo a medical examination.
The club has reached an agreement with Lyon for Perri’s transfer and is moving swiftly to finalize the deal. Head coach Daniel Farke had weighed various options to replace Illan Meslier but ultimately settled on Perri as his top choice.
Given Perri’s excellent fitness record, passing the Leeds medical should be a formality. The only remaining question is when the transfer will be officially completed.
According to Graham Smyth of the Yorkshire Evening Post, the medical will take place in Germany where the team is currently on a preseason tour, a departure from the initial plan to conduct it in England.
This aligns with the approach taken with recent signing Anton Stach, showing Farke’s desire to integrate new players into the team quickly.
