Strand Larsen | ‘When the crowd is going, it’s one of the best feelings’

Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen Delighted with Carabao Cup Winner

Jorgen Strand Larsen was on fire! The Norwegian striker scored twice in the final 10 minutes to snatch a thrilling Carabao Cup win for Wolves against West Ham United. After coming off the bench with his side trailing 2-1, Strand Larsen formed a deadly partnership with fellow substitute Sasa Kalajdzic, and the pair wreaked havoc on the West Ham defense.

“It was a great comeback for us,” Strand Larsen beamed. “We were the better team by the end of the first half, but we switched off in the second half and conceded two goals. That’s something we need to work on.” However, when he and Kalajdzic came on, they brought a new level of energy to the game, and Strand Larsen’s brace turned the tables on West Ham.

Strand Larsen loved every minute of his impact off the bench. “It’s one of the best feelings ever when the crowd is going wild,” he said. “Those were two nice goals, and I should’ve had a hat-trick, tbh!”

On his two-goal salvo, Strand Larsen said, “The first one was a bit lucky – I saw Andre loading up and thought it wouldn’t go in, but I managed to get a clean shot. The second goal was a great cross, and we created momentum after Sasa came on. We’re big guys, and we can be annoying to play against!”

Strand Larsen also praised his teammates’ work, particularly Ki Hoever’s crossing. “We’ve had some good deliveries already in these first two games. It’s all about the players keeping it up, and I’m just glad to be back scoring after some injuries.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match, Strand Larsen said, “We need to focus on getting back to winning ways in the Premier League. This win gives us momentum, and we need to show that we have the spirit and can be tough to beat at Molineux.”

Finally, Strand Larsen had nothing but praise for the Molineux crowd. “It’s always special playing here. The fans have been amazing, and we need their backing when things get tough. We’re a energetic group, and we want to create a great atmosphere here.”

With that, Strand Larsen and Wolves will look to carry this momentum into their next match, with the Premier League season heating up.
