In an in-depth interview, former Sheffield Wednesday coach Danny Rohl has been asked about Dejphon Chansiri and the payment issues that affected staff.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl left the club this summer, bringing his tenure to a close after two seasons.
Rohl’s time in S6 was widely considered to be successful, having pulled a beleaguered Sheffield Wednesday side from the ashes during the 2023/24 season to save them from a dire start under Xisco Munoz.
The Owls managed to build on their 2023/24 heroics with a 12th-placed finish the following year until a dire situation at Hillsborough Stadium, which saw Rohl eventually move on, with Henrik Pedersen taking his place.

Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri has failed to pay wages on time on a number of occasions this summer, and while they were issued on time for August, staff understandably do not feel too secure following such previous issues.
Problems began to spring up in the latter stages of Danny Rohl’s tenure at Sheffield Wednesday.
Rohl has criticised Chansiri’s communication in an in-depth interview, while also giving other insight into the Thai owner, who made the news recently for supposedly wanting the direction of the river Don to be changed for luck reasons.
Speaking to The Times, who asked him about Chansiri’s supposed feng shui tactics that swayed a number of club decisions, Rohl said: “Luck is very important to him. He tries everything,” Röhl says. “I think it’s a cultural thing. You have to accept it. It’s nothing negative.”
When pressed on the uncertainty around pay that affected all staff at the club, he said: “Everybody was affected, but I felt more for people in regular jobs at the club. Everybody knows life is expensive. You have to pay bills.
“What was really hard was trying to help people but not having information. It’s hard to say something which gives hope when the picture is not clear.”

While Sheffield Wednesday’s issues were multiplied, not just by the departure of Danny Rohl from the club, but the time it took to be finalised, they have not been left entirely with no hope.
Following Rohl’s exit, Henrik Pedersen stepped up as his successor, which is probably the best news Sheffield Wednesday fans could have heard amid a shambolic summer.
Pedersen’s appointment made the transition as smooth as possible, at a time when the Owls were being bombarded with regular concerns, so as a result, players were less affected.
Sheffield Wednesday supporters have very little hope of survival this season, but they have been more than satisfied with Pedersen stepping into the fray when no one else would dare.
