Football Insider sources have revealed that Nottingham Forest will part ways with manager Nuno Espirito Santo if his crisis talks with owner Evangelos Marinakis do not lead to a resolution.
Nuno’s future at the City Ground has come into question after he admitted to having disagreements with Marinakis. The 51-year-old is reportedly dissatisfied with the club’s summer transfer dealings and has had issues with recruitment chief Edu Gaspar.
While discussions have taken place to address the situation, reports suggest that failure to find common ground could result in Nuno’s dismissal.
Despite the threat of Nuno being replaced, the current expectation is that he will continue as Nottingham Forest manager. The former Wolves and Tottenham boss guided the team to a commendable seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, securing European football.
Nuno has expressed his desire to remain in his position at Forest, despite the internal discord. However, any decline in on-field performance could prompt Marinakis to make a swift decision regarding the manager’s future.
Concurrently, Marco Silva is reportedly discontent at Fulham and is a strong contender to succeed Nuno should he be let go. Sources suggest that Silva is Forest’s primary choice to take over if needed, with the Portuguese manager also represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency, known for dealings with Marinakis and his clubs.
