Leeds United had shown interest in signing Troy Parrott during the summer transfer window, but the Irish striker ultimately decided to stay with his current club AZ Alkmaar.
Despite the reported £21 million bid from Leeds, Parrott opted to remain at Alkmaar following a successful breakthrough season with the Dutch club. After joining on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur, the Republic of Ireland international impressed by scoring 20 goals in all competitions.
Parrott, aged 23, has continued his fine form into the current season with notable performances. He has scored three goals in two Eredivisie games, and was particularly prolific in the Conference League qualifiers, finding the net seven times in five matches.
