SAD NEWS-KEY PLAYERS RULED OUT: Nottingham Forest hit by fitness concern to key man ahead of crunch Chelsea clash

Nottingham Forest faces a crucial test this weekend against Chelsea, with striker Chris Wood’s fitness in question. Head coach Ange Postecoglou is feeling the pressure after failing to secure a win in his first seven matches in charge.

Wood, who recently became New Zealand’s joint-top appearance holder, was withdrawn from his national team’s match against Norway due to knee tightness. Despite the concerns, New Zealand’s manager believes Wood will be fit to play.

In Forest’s last match, a 2-0 loss to Newcastle United, Wood was in the starting lineup. However, if he is unable to play this weekend, summer signing Igor Jesus is likely to take his place.

Postecoglou is also hopeful of having defender Murillo and midfielder Douglas Luiz back from injury to face Chelsea. Oleksandr Zinchenko’s availability is uncertain, while Ola Aina remains sidelined.

As the team sits in 17th place in the Premier League table, owner Evangelos Marinakis is considering the possibility of a managerial change. However, for now, it seems he will give Postecoglou more time to turn things around.
