“THAT’S DISRESPECTFUL” : Leeds chiefs intervene to block Radrizzani visit over comments made

Andrea Radrizzani was expected to be back in the Elland Road directors’ box for Leeds United’s match against West Ham United on Friday, marking his return since selling his 56 per cent stake to 49ers Enterprises in July 2023.

The 49ers have since helped lead Leeds back to the Premier League, and it was anticipated that Radrizzani would return to witness the team’s progress. However, a recent newspaper interview where he mentioned his upcoming attendance at the West Ham game seems to have caused some discord.

Leeds officials have reportedly withdrawn the invite for Radrizzani’s return, as they were not pleased that he disclosed details of the visit publicly. While he may still be welcomed back in the future, it appears that his return will be postponed for now.

Despite Radrizzani’s positive memories of leading Leeds, including a ninth-placed finish under Marcelo Bielsa, his absence during their relegation season seemed to have a lasting impact. Now, it seems that even his planned return has been put on hold due to the interview.

With the focus now on securing a win against West Ham, perhaps it is for the best that Radrizzani’s return has been delayed, ensuring that all attention remains on supporting the team on the pitch.
