Charlie Mulgrew believes that Brendan Rodgers will remain committed to Celtic and not leave the club for a second time. The Northern Irish manager caused a stir in February 2019 when he departed the Hoops while they were on course for a third consecutive domestic Treble.
Despite initial skepticism from supporters, Rodgers returned to Celtic in June 2023 on a three-year deal, aiming to improve the team’s European performances. Although his current contract expires next summer, Rodgers has affirmed his intention to remain at the club until then. While negotiations for a new contract are ongoing, 67 Hail Hail reports that a resolution does not seem imminent, raising the possibility of Rodgers departing in 2026. The 52-year-old has expressed his intention to fulfill his three-year contract and then assess his future options, without making a commitment to a further extension at Celtic beyond that period.
