Nottingham Forest, despite recently appointing Sean Dyche as their manager, are reportedly keeping a close eye on Fulham manager Marco Silva. The City Ground side had considered Silva before appointing Dyche but could potentially pursue the Portuguese tactician after his contract with Fulham expires.
Silva’s current contract with Fulham is set to end in 2026, and while Fulham is keen on extending his stay, Forest may be interested in making a move for him in the future. The Craven Cottage hierarchy is reportedly working hard to retain Silva, but Forest’s interest in the manager has not been ruled out.
Forest had previously weighed up a move for Silva before opting for Dyche. If Silva becomes available in the future, Forest could revisit their interest in him. Silva joined Fulham in 2021 and guided them to the Championship title in his first season. Under his management, Fulham has shown progress in the Premier League, finishing 10th, 13th, and 11th in recent seasons.
While Forest decided not to pursue Silva mid-season due to his release clause and his commitment to Fulham, they may reconsider their interest in him if he becomes available. Forest recently started Dyche’s tenure with a win in the Europa League but suffered a loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League, sitting in the relegation zone with one victory so far.
It remains to be seen if Forest will make a move for Silva in the future, depending on his availability and their assessment of their managerial situation.
