“We are aware that we can perform better across the entire 90 minutes,” Hume remarked. “Fulham created several chances, the type we typically do not concede. We acknowledge the need for improvement and are determined to show a better performance next Saturday. While it was disappointing to concede in the manner we did, I personally believe the awarded free kick was unwarranted. It disrupted our rhythm, and Fulham took advantage by scoring quickly off of it. We are disappointed with the outcome, but we must admit that Fulham had several opportunities, and when you concede as many chances as we did, it’s likely that one will find the back of the net. Although the officiating decisions were questionable throughout the game, we understand that it is not an excuse for the result. We are determined to analyze our performance, put in the hard work during training, and come back stronger.”
Reflecting on the team’s emotions post-match, Hume added, “We are feeling a mix of disappointment and frustration as a unit. We are disappointed that we could not secure three points or at least salvage a draw, especially conceding a late goal. It was certainly a tough outing for us.”
