Crystal Palace to seal £35m Spurs deal – Ipswich Town will have one eye on transfer

Crystal Palace is considering a move for a transfer target from Ipswich Town, and the player is expected to make a decision on his future soon, just before the transfer window opens.

With the recent signings of Jack Clarke, Jaden Philogene, and Sindre Walle Egeli for significant fees, alongside Omari Hutchinson, Crystal Palace has made some big investments in wide forwards. Additionally, Kasey McAteer and Wes Burns, who recently recovered from injury, are part of the team’s attacking options.

Manager Kieran McKenna regularly rotates these players in various positions, both in the Premier League and outside of it, highlighting the need for depth and competitiveness within the squad.

Reports suggest that Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have approached Tottenham about a deal for Brennan Johnson, who could potentially leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. Ipswich Town, surprisingly, has also been linked with an interest in Johnson, with their chances of securing him possibly hinging on their promotion to the Premier League.

Despite interest from other clubs, including Crystal Palace, Johnson’s future still hangs in the balance as he contemplates his next move. While Ipswich remains a potential destination, it is uncertain whether the Welsh winger will accept the current offer on the table.

As negotiations continue, Ipswich may have to wait until the end of the season to potentially secure Johnson’s services. In the meantime, their focus should be on maximizing the quality within the squad and addressing other areas of need during the winter transfer window.
