Stevenage midfielder Ryan Doherty has caught the attention of Ipswich Town, as reported by transfer expert Pete O’Rourke.
At just 17 years old, Doherty has been attracting interest from several clubs, including Ipswich and Premier League side Bournemouth, ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Having been with Stevenage since Under-8 level, Doherty progressed through the ranks and signed a scholarship agreement in 2024. After a brief loan spell at Potters Bar Town, he returned to Stevenage in February 2025 and signed his first professional contract over the summer.
Doherty has already made three appearances in League One this season, showcasing his talent on the field. If he were to make the move to Ipswich, he is likely to become part of their academy setup, with the club’s U21 team currently performing well in the Premier League 2 table.
With the winter transfer window set to open on January 1st, the race to secure Doherty’s services could heat up as clubs look to bolster their squads for the second half of the season.
