The Whites have been forced to pivot after their pursuit of Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen hit a standstill. Despite Leeds making a bid of over £30m, Wolves are holding out for more, and Crystal Palace has reportedly overtaken Leeds in the race for the Norwegian.
The Jhon Duran Situation
Just a year ago, Duran was one of Europe’s most hyped prospects at Aston Villa before securing a massive £71m move to Saudi side Al Nassr. His career has since hit a turbulent patch:
- The Struggle: He failed to settle in the Middle East.
- The Loan: He spent the first half of this season at Fenerbahce, scoring five goals in 21 games.
- The Opportunity: Fenerbahce is looking to terminate his loan early, leaving intermediaries scrambling to find the 22-year-old a new home before Monday’s deadline.
Why the Deal Makes Sense
While Duran has played for three clubs in the last year and has faced questions regarding his off-field discipline, the upside for Leeds is significant:
