Newcastle United’s Trip to Crystal Palace Rescheduled for Live TV Coverage
Newcastle United have officially confirmed a new date for their upcoming Premier League away fixture against Crystal Palace.
Originally set for Saturday, April 11th, the clash at Selhurst Park has been pushed back 24 hours. The game will now take place on Sunday, April 12th, with a 2:00 PM kick-off. Fans in the UK will be able to watch the action live on Sky Sports.
Why the Change?
The rescheduling is a direct result of Crystal Palace’s continued success in the UEFA Conference League. Following their 2-1 aggregate victory over AEK Larnaca, the Eagles have advanced to the quarter-finals, where they are slated to face Italian side Fiorentina.
With the first leg of that European tie scheduled for Thursday, April 9th, the Premier League has granted Palace an extra day of recovery before facing the Magpies.
A Busy Calendar for Both Sides
The fixture list remains fluid for both clubs due to ongoing cup commitments:
- Crystal Palace: Their match against Manchester City this weekend was postponed because of City’s EFL Cup final against Arsenal. Their following league game against West Ham (April 20th) also remains subject to change depending on the Hammers’ FA Cup results.
- Newcastle United: The Magpies are currently preparing for a high-stakes Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland this Sunday.
Previous Meeting and Head-to-Head
Newcastle and Palace last met very recently, kicking off 2026 with a clash at St. James’ Park on January 4th. Eddie Howe’s side secured a comfortable 2-0 victory thanks to second-half strikes from Bruno Guimaraes and Malick Thiaw.
While Newcastle are currently enjoying a three-match unbeaten run against the Eagles—outscoring them 7-0 over the last two wins—Selhurst Park has proven to be a difficult hunting ground. The Magpies are winless in their last four visits to South London, managed only two goals in that span.
