Bologna are reportedly preparing a fresh move for Napoli-owned striker Lorenzo Lucca as the Italian forward faces an uncertain future following underwhelming spells in both Serie A and the Premier League.
The Rossoblu have long tracked Lucca and are now considering reigniting their interest ahead of the 2026/27 season, with changes expected in their attacking lineup.
Bologna planning attacking reshuffle
According to reports from Italy, Bologna could be set for a shake-up in attack, with Dutch striker Thijs Dallinga likely to attract interest in the summer transfer window. Should he depart, Lucca has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace him.
This isn’t the first time Bologna have pursued the 25-year-old. They were keen on signing him back in 2022 before he opted to join Ajax, and they revisited their interest again during the January transfer window earlier this year.
Now, with Lucca potentially available once more, Bologna see an opportunity to finally secure a player they have admired for years.
Struggles in Italy and England
Lucca’s recent form, however, raises questions. The striker has struggled to make a consistent impact since joining Napoli, managing just one goal in 23 appearances during the first half of the season.
A January loan move to Nottingham Forest offered a chance for a fresh start, but the change of scenery has not significantly improved his fortunes. He has scored only once in seven appearances in England, failing to fully convince during his short stint in the Premier League.
As a result, Forest are not expected to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign, meaning Lucca is likely to return to Napoli this summer.

Despite his struggles, Bologna believe Lucca still has the qualities to succeed. Standing out for his physical presence and aerial ability, the Italian forward offers a different profile compared to many modern strikers.
A return to Serie A in a more stable and clearly defined role could help him rediscover the form that once made him one of Italy’s most promising attacking talents.
For Napoli, a permanent exit could also be on the table if the right offer arrives, as they look to reshape their squad.
