Leeds United’s young goalkeeper, Kristoffer Klaesson, is on the verge of finalizing his transfer to Polish side Rakow Czestochowa within the next day. Reports from Nettavisen suggest that the 23-year-old will soon be in Poland to complete the move.

The Whites have already reached an agreement with Rakow Czestochowa, although specific details of the deal are yet to be disclosed. With just a year left on his contract at Elland Road, it was decided that a permanent transfer elsewhere with regular playing time would be the best option for Klaesson’s career.

Following discussions to finalize personal terms, the Norwegian keeper is expected to undergo a medical before being officially unveiled by his new club on Sunday. This signing will mark Rakow Czestochowa’s second of the week.

Despite high hopes for Klaesson upon his arrival at Leeds in 2021, he struggled to secure a regular starting position. With only four appearances for the Whites and facing stiff competition in the team, it became apparent that a move away was necessary for his development.

While there were originally expectations of Klaesson challenging for the starting role at Leeds, it became clear that his potential hadn’t quite met the club’s standards. As his contract neared its end, the decision was made to capitalize on his transfer rather than risk losing him for free.

Leeds has already seen young talents like Archie Gray and Jamie Shackleton depart this summer, as they continue to reshape their squad for the upcoming season.
