EXPLOSIVE DEAL: Lennon granted Celtic permission to hold transfer talks with Hoops forgotten man.

Neil Lennon appears to be on the brink of securing a deal for Celtic’s forgotten goalkeeper, Ben Siegrist.

The Swiss shotstopper, aged 32, has struggled during his time at Parkhead and is now looking to move on this summer. Signed by Ange Postecoglou on a free transfer, Siegrist has had limited game time with the Scottish champions, failing to make an appearance last season after playing in a 4-0 victory over Motherwell in October 2022.

Eager to reignite his career elsewhere, Siegrist has reportedly been offered a lifeline by Lennon’s Rapid Bucharest. He has been given permission to travel to Romania for negotiations as the former Hoops manager looks to secure a permanent deal.

Brendan Rodgers is open to letting the out-of-favour keeper go, especially with the recent acquisitions of Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo. With Scott Bain also in the mix as third-choice, Siegrist’s departure seems imminent.
