Celtic have made way for the arrival of Adam Idah by officially announcing the departure of South Korean striker Hyeongyu Oh to Belgian side Genk. The deal, worth £4.5 million, comes less than two years after Oh’s arrival at Parkhead.
Oh signed for Celtic in the January 2023 transfer window during Ange Postecoglou’s reign as manager, for a reported fee of £2.5 million. However, his time at the club saw limited impact, with just three starts and no appearances in the starting lineup since December.
The move to Genk has been well-documented, with reports from The Scottish Daily Mail and The Scottish Sun confirming the £4.5 million fee. This represents a £2 million profit for Celtic, which they will need to invest wisely, especially in strengthening their attacking options.
Negotiations with Norwich City for Adam Idah are ongoing, with an initial bid rejected. Norwich is holding out for a higher fee, delaying the official transfer. Idah, seen as a key addition to the Celtic squad, has become a top priority following Oh’s departure.
