DONE DEAL- Medical Booked: Celtic seal Groundbreaking deal with star player as they reach full agreement, player jets out to seal Contract.

Celtic goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist is on the verge of a new chapter in his career as he prepares to undergo a medical with Rapid Bucharest on Monday. Sources have revealed that the 32-year-old shot-stopper has agreed to terms to join the Romanian club managed by Neil Lennon on a permanent deal. Despite being under contract at Celtic Park until 2026, Siegrist has found himself on the fringes of the squad, making just two competitive appearances since his arrival in 2022. With limited opportunities at Celtic, the Swiss goalkeeper is now looking to reignite his career with a move to Rapid Bucharest, where he will have the opportunity to work with former Celtic boss Lennon once again.

Siegrist brings a wealth of experience to his new club, having played 60 games in the Scottish Premiership throughout his career, with the majority of his game time coming during his time at Dundee United where he kept an impressive 52 clean sheets in 145 appearances. Despite his success in the past, Siegrist has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Celtic, especially following Joe Hart’s retirement.

Celtic’s recent signings of goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo have further limited Siegrist’s opportunities, prompting him to seek a new challenge at Rapid Bucharest. The move presents Siegrist with a fresh opportunity to secure regular playing time and showcase his skills on the pitch. As he prepares to jet out to finalise the deal in the next few days, Siegrist is eager to make his mark at his new club and make the most of this new chapter in his career.
