“We won’t let him slip out of our hands, he is Magical” £7m player would be far better off joining Leeds than Southampton as transfer battle starts

Southampton is planning a surprising £7m bid for one of Leeds United’s recent transfer targets, but it would be wiser for the player to choose Elland Road over the Saints.

Despite Southampton’s victory over Leeds in the Championship play-off final at Wembley, sending Daniel Farke’s squad down to the second tier, Southampton’s promotion to the Premier League has motivated them to make eight new signings, including Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Flynn Downes. However, Leeds shows no signs of slowing down in the transfer market.

Reports indicate that Southampton is preparing a bid for Crystal Palace’s Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, catching Palace off guard as they were surprised by Southampton’s interest in a permanent move. Palace values Rak-Sakyi much higher than the £7m bid from Southampton.

Leeds is also interested in Rak-Sakyi, who impressed on loan at Charlton in League One. With Leeds in need of wingers, they have reached out to Palace to bring Rak-Sakyi to Elland Road on loan.

Rak-Sakyi must carefully consider his next club to ensure he gets valuable game time to continue his development. While he has excelled in League One, the Premier League may be too big of a leap for him to secure a starting spot at Southampton. On the other hand, Leeds can offer him more playing time and a chance to showcase his talent in the Championship.

With key players leaving Leeds, Rak-Sakyi could be a vital addition to their attacking lineup and thrive in a team known for its offensive style of play. Choosing to move to Elland Road this summer seems like the better option for Rak-Sakyi over joining Martin’s Southampton.
