“They want to break us by all means” -Leeds United’s worst nightmare just came true as Portsmouth receives a massive injury boost ahead of their clash on the opening day. This setback will leave Leeds scrambling to find a way to victory against their rejuvenated opponents.

Portsmouth manager John Mousinho has provided reassurance to fans that defender Tom McIntyre will be fit and ready to take on Leeds United in just under two weeks. McIntyre’s departure from a pre-season friendly due to muscle tightness raised concerns among supporters eager to see him play a key role in the upcoming Championship season.

Despite only having made one appearance since arriving in January, McIntyre is expected to partner Conor Shaughnessy at the heart of Portsmouth’s defense. His return to full fitness comes as a timely boost for the team, who have limited defensive options ahead of the clash with Leeds on August 10.

While Portsmouth has made six new signings, including Reuben Swann and Jordan Archer, the need for more reinforcements, especially in defense, is apparent. Mousinho is optimistic about bringing in additional players in the coming weeks to bolster the squad.

Following a loss to Wycombe, Portsmouth will look to bounce back in their remaining pre-season matches against MK Dons and Charlton Athletic before the start of the Championship season.
