Leicester player impressed with 21-year-old player over international break so far

Leicester City defender Conor Coady had high praise for Cole Palmer after the Chelsea star made his England debut on Friday. Coming off the bench in England’s 2-0 win against Malta, Palmer had a promising performance, impressively getting past a couple of Malta players during a particular play. Coady noted that he fully expected this level of play from the 21-year-old, given his current confidence and performance at Chelsea.

Now, Palmer is hoping to secure his first start for Gareth Southgate’s side when they take on North Macedonia. Coady has been impressed with Palmer’s performance at both club and now international level. According to Coady, Palmer’s calmness and skillful play make him a standout player for England.

Given England’s need for more creativity in their victory over Malta, Coady believes Palmer could bring that to the team. For example, in a recent game for Chelsea, Palmer made four key passes, showcasing his ability to create scoring opportunities for his team.

Coady believes that Palmer’s current form and the lack of form from other England attackers make him a strong candidate for a starting position. However, Coady acknowledges that Southgate will make the final call on the lineup, and Palmer may have to wait a bit longer for his full debut for England.
