“I don’t want Ipswich Town, I want where I can win it all” -Burnley central defender Dara O’Shea is reported to have turned down the chance to join the Blues, preferring a move to Rival Club.

Football Insider has reported that both Town and the Bees have set their sights on a 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international. The Dublin native has reportedly turned down interest from the Blues, but discussions with the West London club are still ongoing.

O’Shea kicked off his English career with West Brom after transferring from his schoolboy team St Kevin’s. During his time with the Baggies, the 6ft 1in defender had loan spells at Hereford and Exeter.

Last summer, the Irish international made a £7 million move to Turf Moore and played a key role for the Clarets as they suffered relegation from the Premier League in the 2023/24 season.

Despite already securing the signing of centre-half Jacob Greaves from Hull City this summer, Town may be considering adding another defender before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

In addition to their interest in the Republic of Ireland international, both the Blues and Brentford are rumored to be eyeing Napoli’s Swedish midfielder Jens Cajuste. While the Bees are reportedly close to securing a deal for the 24-year-old, sources from Town have downplayed reports of a potential loan with an option to buy offer from Italy.
