“He is a TOTAL DISASTER, he has to do better” Ian Wright and Tim Sherwood Humiliated and Disappointed with what £10m Wolves gem did v Arsenal

The Wolves started their Premier League campaign with a disappointing 2-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Facing a strong Arsenal side that is expected to contend for the league title, very few fans anticipated that the Wolves would come away with points from the match. Despite the defeat, the Wolves showed great determination and had some encouraging moments throughout the game.

During the first half, Jorgen Strand Larsen had a golden opportunity to equalize with a powerful header, but Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya made an excellent save to deny him. Kai Havertz capitalized on a similar chance and headed home to give Arsenal the lead, before Bukayo Saka extended the lead with a goal in the second half.

Criticism was directed towards Wolves’ defender Rayan Ait-Nouri for his role in Arsenal’s second goal. Ait-Nouri, who faced Saka multiple times before, struggled to contain the English winger and was criticized for allowing him to cut inside and score. However, it was not just Ait-Nouri who struggled defensively; Mario Lemina and Toti Gomes were also singled out for their defensive lapses during the match.

Wolves fans can take some positives from the game, particularly from the performances of the three debutants – Jorgen Strand Larsen, Rodrigo Gomes, and Yerson Mosquera. Despite the challenges they faced, the debutants showed promise and received praise for their efforts. While the team’s defensive shortcomings were evident against Arsenal, there were glimpses of quality on the ball and promising play in certain periods of the match.

Moving forward, Wolves will need to work on improving their defensive solidity and composure to avoid conceding soft goals. The match against Arsenal highlighted the importance of top defending against quality opponents. With room for improvement, Wolves will strive to better their performance in future matches and bounce back from the disappointing start to their Premier League campaign.
