I think it’s unlikely that Leicester City will sign any players in the January transfer window, as they are not in desperate need of reinforcements. Enzo Maresca is looking to bring in a left-sided defender to serve passes into midfield and a new midfielder, but only if a good deal comes up. He doesn’t believe that this window is of greater importance than usual because Leicester look to be promoted back to the Premier League. Instead, any player that is brought in during the January window would have to be signed with the Championship budget in mind. Maresca believes that in the event of promotion, there would probably be around eight or nine signings to make this squad Premier League-ready. As for a new striker, it is unlikely, as they already have four strikers at the club and one of them is unlikely to get any game-time. So, it’s not as if they need any more because of a lack of numbers.
