Wolves are nearing a £10 million agreement with Crystal Palace for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and are preparing to present him with a four-year contract. The English player has seen limited playing time since Oliver Glasner took over at Selhurst Park, with Dean Henderson claiming the starting role. Henderson, previously wearing No 30, has become the primary goalkeeper for Crystal Palace after his move from Nottingham Forest last season.
Despite being sidelined due to injury, Henderson started 18 Premier League matches between December and May, while Johnstone only appeared in four top-flight games in the same period. Wolves have shown interest in acquiring Johnstone, alongside Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper has yet to make an appearance this season and is on the verge of leaving Crystal Palace for Wolves. Wolves have been targeting a new goalkeeper before the transfer deadline, with Jose Sa currently holding the No 1 spot but conceding six goals in a recent match against Chelsea.
On the other hand, Crystal Palace is looking to secure deals for Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix and Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah. Additionally, they are considering Odsonne Edouard as a potential target for Ipswich if they decide against pursuing a loan deal for Chelsea’s Armando Broja. Negotiations for Nketiah have progressed, with Palace offering £25 million plus £5 million in add-ons, and the striker showing interest in the move.
