Leeds United had a disappointing summer transfer window as they saw key players leave Elland Road, leaving manager Daniel Farke frustrated with the lack of incoming talent. Despite raising over £100 million in transfer fees, the Whites were unable to secure all the targets they wanted.
In a late push during the final week of the window, Leeds managed to bring in Largie Ramazani, Manor Solomon, Ao Tanaka, and Isaac Schmidt, but some fans were still left wanting more. Jonathan Rowe, who had impressed during his time at Norwich City before moving to Marseille, was a target for Leeds.
Although Leeds made two bids for Rowe, they were unable to meet Norwich’s asking price of £15 million. Since joining Marseille, Rowe has already impressed with a stunning goal against Lyon, showcasing his talent and potential.
While Ramazani and Solomon have been welcomed additions to the team, fans can’t help but wonder what could have been with Rowe on the squad. Farke had high hopes for Rowe’s development at Leeds, but unfortunately, the deal fell through due to the asking price.
Although Leeds will never know what could have been with Rowe in their squad, they must move forward and focus on the players they do have. Despite missing out on Rowe, the team must continue to strive for success in the season ahead.
