Meanwhile, Steve Cooper, who was also linked with the Sunderland job over the summer, has faced a challenging start at Leicester City. Despite mutual appreciation between Cooper and Sunderland owner Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, the Welshman’s decision to take the Leicester job has been met with disappointment from fans as the Foxes struggle to find form.
With patience paying off for Sunderland under Le Bris, it seems that the decision to pass on Cooper may have been the right one.
