‘Relegation Guaranteed’ – Keith Wyness can’t believe the Outrageous O’Neil sack reveal from Wolves

Keith Wyness, former chief of Everton, has expressed his disbelief at the idea of Wolves sacking Gary O’Neil, stating that it would be a surefire way to ensure relegation for the club. In an interview on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness, who now advises elite clubs through a football consultancy, emphasized that people have short memories when it comes to O’Neil’s achievements.

Reports have suggested that O’Neil is under pressure to perform at Wolves, with the team currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League and yet to secure a win in the current season. Despite this, sources have indicated that O’Neil still has the support of club chiefs after guiding Wolves to a 14th-place finish in the previous season amidst significant player sales.

Wyness believes that O’Neil has the capability to turn things around at Wolves, attributing their struggles to unlucky results rather than poor performances. He urges the board to stand by O’Neil, warning that any decision to dismiss him would almost certainly lead to the club facing relegation. With tough fixtures against Liverpool, Brentford, and Man City on the horizon, Wolves will need to rally behind O’Neil to avoid a downward spiral.
