INSANE DONE DEAL: Wolves set to shell out £40m for star player as club are willing to accept after initial offer was rejected

Sources have informed Football Insider that Wolves have been informed that a £40million fee will secure the signing of Burnley winger Luca Koleosho. During the latest episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke disclosed that Burnley has placed a hefty price tag on the 20-year-old.

Although Wolves made an attempt to secure Koleosho’s signature on deadline day of the summer transfer window, they were deterred by Burnley’s valuation. The Midlands club now has a clear understanding of the cost involved in signing the talented winger, but faces stiff competition from other interested parties.

Burnley has moved swiftly to tie Koleosho down to a new five-year contract, indicating that they will demand a substantial fee for his services if a sale is to be considered in the future. It is unlikely that a deal will be reached during the January transfer window, with any potential move dependent on Burnley’s position in the table.

Koleosho has been in fine form this season, scoring two goals in five Championship appearances, attracting interest from multiple clubs. Wolves will have to battle it out with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Newcastle if they are to secure his services down the line.

With Wolves currently struggling in the league, sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, the pressure is on for a turnaround in form. They will face Liverpool on Saturday, looking to secure their first win of the season under manager O’Neill.
