Callum Hudson-Odoi, now a player for Nottingham Forest, is establishing himself as one of the most talented players to emerge from Cobham. Despite admitting that leaving Chelsea was a tough decision, he believes it was necessary for his career progression.
Chelsea has a reputation for letting go of promising players who later shine elsewhere, like Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah. However, Odoi views his departure differently, stating that he needed to seek new opportunities to excel.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Odoi explained, “I had to make the difficult decision to leave Chelsea to continue growing as a player. It was the right move for me at this stage of my career.”
Nottingham Forest has had a strong start to the season under Nuno Espirito Santo, with Odoi making valuable contributions to the team. His standout moment was a stunning goal at Anfield, securing a memorable victory over Liverpool.
As Forest prepares to face Chelsea, Odoi hopes for a positive reception from the fans, recalling his goal against his former club last season. “I hope they appreciate and maybe even applaud me,” he said.
