“We’ll be getting an offer of at least £30m” – Sunderland AFC fan stance to Birmingham City, Chris Rigg news emerges

In Football League World’s ‘Terrace Talk’ series, personal opinions are shared by FLW Fan Pundits on various football topics, including news, teams, players, and potential signings.

Birmingham City, currently performing well in League One, are reportedly considering a surprise £10m move for Sunderland starlet Chris Rigg. The 17-year-old has been impressing in the Championship under new Black Cats boss Regis Le Bris. However, competition for his signature includes Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool.

Despite having financial backing from US investors, including NFL legend Tom Brady, Birmingham may face difficulty in securing Rigg’s services. Sunderland fan pundit Eddy Bamber believes the talented midfielder is likely to attract offers from bigger clubs like Manchester United, potentially reaching £30m in the summer.

While Birmingham’s ambition is commendable, signing Rigg in January seems unlikely. The youngster is an integral part of Sunderland’s strong start to the season in the Championship, making a move to a top-flight club more plausible than a switch to League One. The Black Cats will likely prioritize keeping Rigg amidst interest from larger clubs.
